The Prince T22 Mid is specifically designed for both frequent and tournament player who enjoys stability, support, durability and traction

Cons

  • Lack of colour options to choose from

  • Can feel a little heavy

The Prince T22 Mid is a great shoe that has been doing well on the market for many years and continues to this day. It’s a shoe built to provide you with stability, support, durability and traction. If you are a player looking for these features then you would enjoy playing in these shoes.

In this post, I’m going to provide you with an in-depth review of the Prince T22 Mid and how it can benefit your game. Let’s start off with the design and cosmetic of the shoe.

Design

When I look at the design and cosmetic of the shoe, personally I wouldn’t say it’s the best on the market. It’s fairly decent but needs some improvement when you compare it with the likes of NikeCourt React Vapor NXT which looks stunning and attractive to wear.

Upper

Now let’s take a closer look at the upper material. The upper is made of synthetic material to provide you with good comfort and flexibility. This allows you to move with ease on the court.

Moreover, the use of mesh material is going to provide you with breathability.

Honestly, I wouldn’t say it’s the best breathable shoe on the market. If you are looking for a more breathable shoe then I highly recommend the Lacoste AG-LT 21 Ultra.

This shoe is going to provide you with a good durable upper. This is great because it would last you longer than usual.

Toe Box

Are you a toe dragger? If you are then you would enjoy wearing this shoe. It’s going to provide you with excellent durability and protection on the court.

Arch and Ankle Support

The arch area is nicely done to provide you with good stability. This would really help with your movement on the court. The heel and ankle area may not be the tallest height compared to other shoes such as the Diadora Speed Blushield 5 AG. But it still does a good job at holding your ankle and feet in perfect position for stability.

Lacing System and Tongue

Let’s take a closer look at the lacing system. The Prince T22 Mid come with extra lacing holes for more grip and stability.

Also, the tongue has a leather hole connected to the tongue to help keep it still whiles moving around the court. In addition, the tongue comes with a padded feel to provide you with good comfort and cushioning whiles moving around the court.

Insole and Midsole

The insole is nicely made to provide you with good cushioning and comfort. This is great at helping you to move comfortably on the court.

The midsole on the other hand is made of EVA material with a ShockEraser heel which does a very good job at absorbing shock.

In addition, the foot area is made of SoftSpring PU plastic that helps to disperse the shock in the impact, whiles increasing comfort and cushioning.

This is great at preventing you from getting any serious injuries when you jump and land on the court unforgiving.

Weight

The weight of the shoe is around 13.8 ounces with size 8.5. I wouldn’t say is one of the best lightweight shoes on the market and is not the best heavy shoe on the market either.

However, when you compare the Mid to the Low you would notice that the Mid is a little heavy than the Low because a lot of the weight is coming from the outsole.

Fit

When it comes to fit this shoe may require some break-in period. This could take a few hours to a couple of days for your feet to get comfortable. This can be a little frustrating during this period because your feet would feel uncomfortable but it’s important to be patient.

This shoe is more suitable for players who have a medium to wide foot. If you have any of these foot types then you don’t have to go either up or down a half size because it’s true to length. However, if you have a narrow foot I would recommend that you wear two pairs of socks to give you a good fit.

Outsole

Next up is the outsole of the shoe. This is another key strength of the shoe. It’s made with PRC 1000 durable outsole compound. This special material is going to provide you with excellent durability on the court.

If you are a player that is very hard and aggressive on their outsole then you would really enjoy wearing this shoe. And secondly, the outsole is made of the popular herringbone tread pattern

This is going to provide you with good traction on all court surfaces by allowing you to move and turn easily without losing your balance. Moreover, you would be able to slide comfortably on the court.

Colour Options

Unlike the Fila Axilus 2 Energized which comes with different colour options to choose from. Unfortunately, this is not the case for Prince T22 Mid.

The men usually come in a maximum of two to three colours whiles the women comes with only one colour option. It would have been nice to have more colour options for players to select from which can suit their tennis outfit.

Price

The last point to talk about is the price of the Prince T22 Mid. This shoe comes under $100 which is a good price point with the awesome features that come with it.

It’s going to provide you with excellent durability, support, traction and great stability. If you are looking for these features in a shoe then the price of the shoe is a bargain when compared with other expensive shoes such as the Head Sprint Pro 3.0 SF.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I hope you have found this in-depth review about Prince T22 Mid very useful and helpful. This shoe is built for the frequent and tournament player who enjoys stability, support, durability and traction. This shoe could take your game to the next level.

However, there are some areas that need improvements such as the weight of the shoe and lack of colour to choose from. Apart from that, it’s a great shoe at a decent price.

This shoe comes with a lot of positive feedback as you can tell by the amazing reviews. I hope you like this shoe and helps you to play better on the court. I would end by saying good luck in your next match.
