The Lotto Raptor Hyperpulse 100 SPD comes with a lot of technologies and innovation. It’s a shoe that you are going to enjoy the excellent cushioning, nice comfort, and good stability.

Although the downside to this shoe is how it’s expensive to afford and does require some break-in period for your feet to get used to it. As expensive as this shoe may be it’s still a nice looking shoe to play with on the court and it’s going to add a lot to your game.

Lotto has added a new tennis shoe to their arsenal and it’s called the Lotto Raptor Hyperpulse 100. This shoe comes with a lot of innovation and technology. The question that you are probably asking is, does all the innovation and technologies that Lotto has incorporated in this tennis shoe worth it?

If you want to find the answer then I suggest that you read on because in this post I’m going to provide you with a thorough in-depth review of the Lotto Raptor Hyperpulse 100. If you are ready let’s start off with the design and colour scheme of the shoe.

Design

Right out of the box, the shoe looks sleek and stylish. It makes it fun and cool to play with on the court. The colours scheme that Lotto selected is spot on and the combination of it is amazing.

The design of this shoe is more attractive than other shoes such as New Balance 806 which has a boring design. Overall, a big thumbs up to Lotto for the amazing yet simplistic design.

Upper

The upper comes with a double-layered mesh material. The purpose of this is to provide you with good breathability whiles playing on the court. This is great at keeping your feet cool and fresh during the match.

Also, the upper material does a really good job of providing you with excellent stability and support.

This means that regardless of how you are moving on the court, you are going to get good stability and support from the shoe.

And lastly with the upper is the durability. The Hyperpulse 100 SPD comes with a diamond-shaped multilayer Kurim material which does really well at providing you with excellent durability.

Therefore, if you are an aggressive mover or toe dragger then this upper would take good care of you.

Toe Box

The Hyperpulse 100 SPD comes with an anti-abrasion toe cap. The purpose of this is to provide you with good toe box protection. Also, the shoe has enough room in the toe box area to provide you with comfort and prevent you from getting any toe jamming. This enables you to play freely without experiencing any pain or soreness.

Heel Counter and Ankle Support

The heel counter is long enough to keep your feet and heel in perfect position as you play and move around the court. The allows you to move better and with ease on the court. Also, the ankle support height and size are going to provide you with good support and stability during play.

Tongue and Lacing System

The way Lotto structured the tongue and lacing system is done in a simplistic way yet very effective at providing you with good grip and support.

The Hyperpulse 100 SPD comes with a well-padded tongue to provide you with nice cushioning and comfort.

This makes it comfortable and enjoyable to play in these shoes. Also, it helps to put less pressure on your forefoot which prevents you from getting any sore.

The lacing system comes with an outrigger lacing system which is going to give you an excellent grip and support. This would make your movement on the court a little better.

Moreover, you got extra lacing holes for you to use if you need more grip and support. However, the extra lacing holes are a little smaller than normal. Which can make it difficult to lace through them.

Weight

The shoe comes with a weight and size of 12.7 oz / 360 g with size 42. I wouldn’t say it’s the most lightweight shoe on the market but it’s not the heaviest either. You would perform well with it regardless.

Insole and Midsole

The shoe comes with a removable insole. This insole is quite unique compared to most tennis shoe’s insole. It comes with a dual-layer which is 8 millimeters thick insole.

This is going to provide you with excellent cushioning and support as you play in it. Also, since it’s a removable insole you can always replace it with your preferred insole.

Next up is the midsole. There is a lot of things going on in the midsole area. Let’s break it down.

Firstly, it comes with a TPU external base shank that is around the lateral side. The purpose of this is to provide you with good stability and support whiles sliding and moving around the court.

And secondly, it has a mixture of EVA and ETPU with a unique blade design. This provides you with a lot of cushioning, and comfort to reduce court shock absorption. It also focuses on energy return to keep you moving quickly with each step.

Fit

The shape and size of the shoe make it suitable for players who have narrowmedium, and wide. Also, the shoe is true to the length which means you don’t have to go either size up or down when selecting your size.

Moreover, how the shoe is designed makes it great for players who are suffering from heel pain and arch pain. And lastly with the fit of the shoe is how it may require some break-in period for some players to get used to it.

Outsole

Now let’s dive deep into the outsole. It comes with Vibram rubber which is going to provide you with decent durability. It may not be the best durability outsole on the market but it would keep you going for a while.

If you want a tennis shoe with good durability then I would recommend that you check out the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 4. The Cage 4 is one of the best outsole durability on the market.

Also, the Hyperpulse 100 SPD comes with a herringbone tread pattern which is going to give you good traction on all court surfaces.

Colour Options

Another criticism of this shoe is the lack of colour options it comes with.

It would be great to see Lotto release different colours in the coming months because the shoe is nice looking.

Price

The Lotto Raptor Hyperpulse 100 SPD unfortunately is nearly $200 which is on the high end of expensive products for tennis shoes. Although this shoe may be expensive, however, it comes with wonderful features such as excellent cushioning, comfort, and good stability.

If you are a player on a lower budget and want less expensive tennis shoes then I highly recommend that you check out other tennis shoes such as NikeCourt Vapor Lite or NikeCourt Air Max Volley. These shoes are not only affordable but they come with great features.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Lotto has done a great job with this new shoe and its technologies. You are going to benefit from their amazing cushioning, comfort and stability. However, the shoe may be costly and does require some break-in period to get your feet used to it. All in all, it’s a great shoe for all court surfaces.
