Nike has released the new NikeCourt Vapor Lite. This shoe is made unique because it takes its inspiration from racing-car to provide you with comfort, breathability and lightweight. In this post, I’m going to provide you with a thorough in-depth review of the NikeCourt Vapor Lite. If you are ready let’s start with the design and cosmetics of the shoe.

Design

Right out of the box, the design and cosmetics of the shoe are nice looking, sleek and yet simplistic. You would enjoy wearing this lovely looking shoe on the court.

Upper

Let’s take a closer look at the upper. Inside of the upper has an extra-durable mesh material to provide you with excellent breathability. This is great because it helps to keep your feet cool and fresh throughout the whole match. This makes it perfect to play with this shoe both indoors and outdoors court.

The shape of the shoe is designed like a racing car where most of its features are under the bonnet. The special cushioning system is built to help you get to the ball as fast as you can.

In addition, the innovative 4-point strap was an idea taken from racing car harnesses to help keep your foot locked in during tough matches.

And lastly, the upper is lightweight, breathable and incredibly comfortable to wear. This allows you to move with ease and adapt to the court quickly.

Toe Box and Heel Counter

The toe box is going to provide you with good protection on the court. In addition, the moulded rubber overlay on the medial side does really well to prevent wear from toe drag.

Also, the heel counter may not have the longest height but it still does very well to keep your heel stable and secure whiles moving aggressively on the court.

Arch and Ankle Support

At the arch area, Nike placed a soft foam so that it makes it easy to align your ankle with your foot while banking. On top of that, a harder foam is used along the outside of your foot to help you push off during fast movements so that you can get to the ball as fast as possible.

And lastly, the ankle area is well padded to provide you with good ankle support and stability as you move around the court.

Lacing System and Tongue

There is nothing peculiar about the lacing system like the Adidas Stycon yet it’s very effective at keeping your feet stable and secure. Firstly, the lacing system has got extra lacing holes for you to use for more grip and stability.

And secondly, the lacing holes are designed with both leather and rubber. It looks cool on the outside and does really well to make the lacing holes last longer than usual.

Also, the sizes of the lacing holes make it easy and quick to lace the shoe.

The tongue is well padded to provide you with cushioning and comfort. This makes running on the court smooth and enjoyable.

Insole and Midsole

The Vapor Lite comes with a removable insole. The insole is nicely made to provide you with comfort and cushioning.

Moreover, since it’s a removable insole you can replace it with your prefered insole that suits your foot and size.

Also, after washing the shoe you can take it out for it to dry quickly. The midsole is going to provide you with nice cushioning and responsiveness on the court.

Weight and Size

The weight of the shoe is lightweight. It comes with a weight of 13.2 ounces with a size of 10.5. This would benefit your game a lot because you would be able to move quickly and effectively on the court with ease.

In terms of size, this shoe comes in a variety of sizes which is great for players who have either a narrow or medium foot. In addition, they run true to size so you don’t have to worry about going half a size up. 

Fit

The NikeCourt Vapor Lite is more suitable for players who have narrow to medium feet. If you have a wide foot you should read the in-depth review of the best tennis shoes for wide feet. You would find this post very useful at finding the perfect shoe that fits you and suits your style of game.

In terms of fit, this tennis shoe does require little to no break-in period and it’s very comfortable right away when you wear it. This is great because your feet can easily adjust to the shoe quickly and start playing your style of tennis.

Outsole

Next up is the outsole. The outsole is specifically built to be used on hard court surfaces. This is going to provide you with good traction on the surface and allow you to move confidently on the court.

However, I wouldn’t say it’s the best durable outsole on the market.

If you are a player that is very hard on their outsole then I would recommend that you try other shoes such as the Asics Solution Speed FF 2 and NikeCourt React Vapor NXT. These shoes are incredibly durable and you would absolutely love playing in them.

Colour Options

This shoe does not come in a variety of colours to select from.

This may be a little disappointing for some players because they prefer to have the option to select a colour that suits their tennis outfit. I’m hoping that Nike can release more colour options as the season progresses.

Price

The last point to talk about is the price of the shoe. The NikeCourt Vapor Lite comes under $100 which makes it affordable for everyone. It’s not expensive like other Nike’s tennis shoes such as the NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor Pro which recently came on the market.

And the cool thing about the Vapor Lite is how it comes with amazing features to help you play better on the court. If you are a beginner, intermediate or even a professional tennis player you would find it very useful.
