NikeCourt React Vapor NXT In-depth Review For Both Men and Women

When it comes to making high performing shoes big brands such as Nike, Adidas and Asics are at the top of the list. They keep making outstanding shoes that continue to take both professional and recreational players games to the next level.

Nike is famous for its Vapor series which both players and fans have come to love and appreciate because of its amazing features. At the start of the 2021 season, Nike has released a new edition to the Vapor line series and it’s called the NikeCourt React Vapor NXT.

This shoe is built with years of collecting data from athletes which makes it the most technical shoe when you compare it to the rest of Nike’s Vapor series.

The slogan for this new shoe is ‘look fast. Play fast’ which is a very interesting concept from Nike. In this post, I’m going to provide you with an in-depth review of the NikeCourt React Vapor NXT and see if it lives up to Nike’s slogan. Without any further talking, let’s start with the cosmetic and design of the shoe.

Design

When I first looked at this shoe, my first impression was ‘OMG this shoe looks stunning and attractive.’ This amazing looking shoe of the Vapor NXT reminds me of the Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Kyrie 5 which was also another awesome looking shoe.

The Kyrie 5 was built on the idea of the combination of tennis and basketball. That idea was cool and it came out nicely when it hit on the market.

As someone who loves awesome looking shoes and designs, if you were to ask me what is my favourite colour for the Vapor NXT. I would say both the men and women’s white/hyper crimson/volt/black would be my number one pick.

Also, wearing this nice looking shoe could uplift your mood on the court if you are feeling down. Overall, Nike did a brilliant job with the cosmetic and design of the shoe and it’s one of the key character traits of Nike.

Upper

Next up is the upper part of the shoe. When you look at how it is structured it has the same DNA as the Nike Vapor Cage 4. The upper is made with full-length sleeve bootie construction, covered by Flyweave material. This is going to provide you with nice breathability and help you to maximize support on the court.

If you are a player that tends to play long and intense matches then this breathability shoe would really help you out on the court.

This is because moisture would be able to move quickly out of the shoe and allow fresh air to come inside.

Furthermore, you would notice that the medial side of the forefoot area is covered with durable rubber and tough plastic in high-wear areas. The purpose of this is to provide you with excellent durability when sliding on the court.

Also, it would really benefit aggressive players. Again Nike did their homework very well when it comes to the upper because a lot of players tend to wear that area quickly.

Toe Box, Arch and Ankle Support

Are you a toe dragger? If you are then this shoe has got you covered. The use of durable rubber and tough plastic is going to protect you from wearing the toe area.

Moreover, the toe area is going to give you a nice fit on the court without leaving extra room for you to feel uncomfortable.

Next up is the arch area. Nike placed a soft foam technology to help make it easier to get a feel of the ground. In addition, this alignment is designed to help you push off during fast movements and still be able to maintain your balance on the court.

And lastly is the ankle support. You are going to enjoy the nice cushioning and support of the ankle area. Again this would really help with your movement on the court and make it supportive.

Lacing System and Tongue

Both the lacing system and tongue look different from how they are normally made. Although it’s not peculiar and completely different from the Adidas Stycon.

The lacing system is kind of underneath the upper and attached to the tongue. The purpose of this is to provide you with an excellent grip when you lace the shoe and keep you stable.

The integrated spandex tongue is going to give you a glove-like fit when you wear the shoe.

This is a nice feature to have because it keeps your feet comfortable and stable as you move around the court.

Midsole

Now let’s take a closer look at the midsole. This is one of the key areas that make the NikeCourt React Vapor NXT unique and special.

It is made of the react foam which is a technology that Nike usually use in their running shoe. It’s great to see Nike incorporate this amazing technology in the tennis shoe lineup. Hence with the name NikeCourt React Vapor NXT.

This technology is mostly used in the arch area to help stabilise your foot and provide you with a smooth feel when playing rallies and moving around the court.

The foam on the outer side of the midsole is a little firmer to provide you with excellent stability when moving side to side. In addition, it’s going to provide you with a nice responsive feel on the court which is a big bonus to have as a tennis player.

Insole and Outsole

This shoe comes with a removable insole to provide you with a nice cushioning. On top of that, you would be able to replace it with your preferred insole if you don’t like this version.

The outsole comes with a different tread pattern than the usual Vapor. This is going to provide you with excellent traction and stability on hard court surfaces.

Also, the durability of the outsole is good. It’s similar to the Vapor Cage 4. If you are a player that is very hard on their outsole then you would enjoy wearing this shoe.

The only downside to the outsole is how it does not come with a six months outsole guarantee like the Vapor Cage 4.

Weight, Size and Fit

This shoe comes with a weight of 15.8 ounces with a size of 10.5. Unfortunately, this would feel a little heavy and bulky on your feet as you play with them.

Unlike the Babolat Jet Mach II that has a limited size, this shoe comes in all sorts of sizes for you to select from. This shoe is more suitable for players who have narrow, medium, fleet feet and up to 2E feet.

If you have a wide foot, a high arch or over 2E then I wouldn’t recommend this shoe. In addition, this shoe does require some break-in period and it’s true to length.

Colour Options

As of now, there are not many colour options on the market at the moment. However, as the 2021 season progresses, Nike would hopefully release more colour options for players to select from. As a tennis fan, I can’t wait to see the different colour options that they would release on the market.

Price

The last point to talk about is the price of this shoe. Without a doubt, this shoe is one of the most expensive shoes on the market. It’s on the same price point as the Asics Solution Speed FF 2 which was also released in 2021.

There are not many criticisms for this shoe except that it’s not suitable for players that have a wide foot and feel heavy and bulky when you wear it. Apart from that, it’s a fantastic looking shoe to wear both on and off the court.
