Earlier in 2021, Adidas released the Adidas Adizero Ubersonic 4 which has been doing well on the market so far. It’s really the first tennis shoe to have a laceless shoe and a lot of players are enjoying playing in them.

Now Adidas has released another set of tennis shoes and it’s called the Adidas Court Control. If you have tried the Adizero Club and you enjoyed playing in them. Then you would find it easy to transition into playing in this new edition.

This Court Control comes with amazing features that can take your game to the next level. In this post, I’m going to provide you with a thorough in-depth review of the Court Control and how you can utilize its features to better your game. Let’s start off with the design of the shoe.

Design

Right out of the box, the design and cosmetics of the shoe look amazing and attractive to play with. It also has a street-looking style to it which makes it wearable off the court.

Moreover, the combination of colours that Adidas selected and used is all spot on. For example, the women’s version of the grey/gold/white looks beautiful and sleek at the same time. All in all, Adidas did their homework very well when it comes to the design aspect of the shoe.

Upper

Now let’s take a closer look at the upper material. Firstly, it comes with a breathable mesh upper material. The purpose of this is to provide you with excellent breathability. This is great at allowing moisture to leave the shoe quickly while allowing fresh air to enter the shoe.

This helps your feet to stay fresh and cool throughout most of the match. Moreover, since it’s breathable you would be able to play in hot weather conditions without your feet getting too much hot.

Secondly, the mesh material is going to provide you with nice comfort and support. This would allow you to move better and comfortably on the court without experiencing much pain or discomfort.

And lastly, the upper material is durability. Unfortunately, the Court Control is not going to be the most durable upper on the market.

Therefore, if you are an aggressive mover or someone who likes to slide a lot then I wouldn’t recommend this shoe. Instead, I would suggest that you try other shoes such as the Asics Court FF2. You would benefit a lot from this shoe.

Toe Box

The toe box comes with an abrasion-resistant ADITUFF material that wraps around the toe and medial forefoot for protection. This would help reduce your chances of you getting any serious injuries.

As I said earlier in this post, this shoe is not going to be the most durable. It’s the same with the toe box area. This means that this shoe is not ideal for toe draggers. If you are a toe dragger and want a shoe that is very durable then I suggest that you check out this in-depth review post. You might find it very useful.

Another great thing with the toe box is how it comes with enough room in the toe box area. This is to provide you with comfort and prevent you from getting any toe jamming. This enables you to play freely without experiencing any pain or soreness.

Heel Counter and Ankle Support

The heel counter may not have the same height as other shoes such as the New Balance Fresh Foam Lav v2 but it still does a good job at holding your heels and feet in perfect position. This makes your movement on the court easy and smooth.

The Court Control also comes with a heel collar pull tab for you to use in case you are struggling to wear the shoe. And lastly, we have ankle support. The ankle collar is at a decent height and size to give you a perfect lock-in fit. This helps your ankle and heel to stay in perfect position as you move around the court.

Tongue and Lacing System

The lacing system and tongue are done in a simplistic way but very effective at providing you with the best support and grip. The tongue comes with a well-padded material to provide you with nice cushioning and support. This allows you to play comfortably without putting too much pressure on your forefoot.

The tongue has a leather hole attached to the top for you to lace through. This is to keep the tongue stable and prevent it from distracting you.

The lacing system comes with an extra lacing hole for you to use if you need more grip and support.

The eyelets are not made of metals but the same materials used to make the upper. This makes it easy to lace through the eyelets but it may not be durable.

Weight

The weight of the shoe is another key strength of the shoe. It comes in 10.9 ounces with size 8.5. This is an incredibly lightweight shoe that is going to allow you to play a speedy game while at the same time allowing you to connect to the court.

Insole and Midsole

The Adidas Court Control comes with a nice cushion insole. The purpose of this is to provide you with excellent cushioning and comfort. This enables you to move and slide on the court with much comfort.

The midsole comes with the unique ADIPRENE shock-absorbing soft EVA.

This is going to provide you with loads of cushioning and help reduce the impact on joints. This is great because it reduces the chances of you getting any serious injury.

Fit

The fit of the shoe is suitable for players who have narrow to medium feet.

The length of the shoe is slightly long and the arch is low. This means you don’t have to go either a size up or down when selecting your size.

However, the shoe is not suitable for players with a wide foot. If you have a wide foot then I would recommend that you check out other shoes such as Asics Gel-Resolution 8. Also, the Court Control does not require any break-in period which is fantastic because your feet can get used to it from the get-go.

Outsole

Now let’s take a closer look at the outsole. It comes with an ADIWEAR rubber compound which is going to provide you with great traction on any court surface. This is great at allowing you to maintain your balance and give you enough control throughout the match.

However, the outsole is not going to be the most durable outsole on the market. Therefore, if you are an aggressive mover then you want to try other tennis shoes such as K-Swiss Hypercourt Supreme. This shoe is going to give you incredible outsole durability.

Colour Options

The Adidas Court Control comes with different colour options to choose from. This is great because you can pick a design that can suit your tennis outfit.

Price

The last important point to talk about is the price of the shoe. The shoe comes under $100 which is a bargain for such amazing features of a tennis shoe. On top of that, the price range for this shoe makes it affordable for all types of players such as beginners, professionals, and even club players.

Summary!!

In summary, the Adidas Court Control is a fantastic tennis shoe to check out. You are going to love its amazing comfort, nice cushioning, and lightweight. This would allow you to play and move better on the court.

However, the downside to this shoe is that it’s not suitable for players with a wide foot and the durability is not that great. It’s a nice-looking shoe that’s worth taking a look at. I wish you the very best of luck in your next match with this tennis shoe.
