Summary

The K-Swiss Hypercourt Express is a great shoe for players who are looking for comfort, traction, and lightweight. This is going to allow you to play and move effectively on the court.

However, there are some features that need a lot of improvement such as the support and stability of the shoe. Also, the durability of the shoe is not the best on the market and it would be great to see some improvement in that area too.

All in all, it’s a good shoe that’s worth a look at.

Pros

  • Excellent comfort
  • Nice breathability
  • Great plush cushioning
  • Lightweight
  • Good traction

Cons

  • Lack of support and stability
  • Lack of durability
  • The design of the shoe needs some improvement

K-Swiss are very good at making comfortable and stable tennis shoes. The K-Swiss Hypercourt Express takes a similar approach and it was also inspired by the quickness of a running shoe. If you are the type of player looking for extremely comfortable, lightweight, and breathable tennis shoes then you shouldn’t look any further.

This shoe has got you covered and it comes with many different features that can take your game to the next level. In this post, I’m going to provide you with a thorough in-depth review of the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express and how you can benefit from its features. Let’s start off with the design of the shoe.

Design

The design and cosmetics of the shoe look dull and unattractive from my perspective. I would like to see K-Swiss make the shoe more bright, sleek, and attractive to wear on the court and possibly off the court. A good example is the K-Swiss Hypercourt Supreme which looks simple and amazing at the same time.

Upper

As I said earlier, this shoe is one of the most comfortable tennis shoes you would ever come across on the market. If you are looking for a comfortable shoe then this shoe should be on top of your list. It comes with a seamless synthetic upper with mesh material.

The purpose of this is to provide you with extreme comfort and nice plush cushioning. This makes it enjoyable when playing in this shoe.

Even when you are playing long and intense matches regularly you are assured that your feet would stay comfortable throughout the match.

On top of that, the use of mesh material is going to provide you with excellent breathability.

This is going to allow moisture to leave the shoe quickly while at the same time welcoming fresh air to keep your feet fresh throughout.

And the last important feature to talk about relating to the upper material is durability. Unfortunately, it’s not going to be the most durable upper on the market. Therefore, if you like to slide a lot then you would want to try a different shoe such as the Asics Gel Challenger 13.

Toe Box

The toe box comes with a lot of room which can be a blessing or a curse depending on your foot size. If you have a wide foot then you would enjoy the comfort that the toe box has to offer.

However, if you have a narrow foot it can get discomfort playing with a wide toe box. If you have a narrow foot you can wear two pairs of socks to reduce the space in the toe box.

The toe box comes with a DuraWrap material for durability. Honestly, I would say the durability is decent not the best on the market. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend this type of shoe to aggressive or even toe draggers.

Heel Counter and Ankle Support

Both the heel counter and ankle support may not have the longest height on the market. But it still does a good job at holding both your ankle and heels in the perfect position. This allows you to move better and effectively on the court.

I would have liked to see K-Swiss include a heel collar pull tab like the Adidas Court Control Tennis Shoes to make it easy for players to wear their shoes quickly.

Tongue and Lacing System

I like how K-Swiss made both the tongue and lacing system very sample. The tongue comes with a well-padded tongue to provide you with nice comfort and plush cushioning. This allows you to play comfortably without putting too much pressure on your forefoot.

Also, the tongue does a very good job of preventing debris and sand from entering the shoe. Again this adds more comfort when you wear the shoe.

In addition, if you look closely at the tongue, you would notice a leather hole attached to the top for you to lace through. This is to keep the tongue stable and prevent it from distracting you whiles playing.

The lacing system comes with extra lacing holes for you to use when needed.

Also, the eyelets are made of round metal eyelets to make it easy to lace through them. However, both the tongue and lacing system lacks support and stability. This can make it challenging when playing in this shoe, especially when sliding and moving on the court aggressively.

Weight

Another key strength of this shoe is the weight of the shoe. It comes with a weight of 11.5 ounces with a size of 8.5. As you can tell this is an incredible lightweight tennis shoe that is going to allow you to play a speedy game.

Insole and Midsole

The insole comes with an ortholite liner to provide you with more cushioning and comfort. This makes it fun and enjoyable to play in this shoe.

The midsole comes with a K-EVA material which does really well to provide you with nice cushioning.

However, it’s not going to be the best support and stability to play with. This can put you at risk when turning and twisting during the match.

If you are a player that thinks support and stability are necessary to your game then I would highly encourage you to check out the Asics Court FF 2.

It’s a shoe that’s going to provide you with one of the best stability and support you can ever get from any tennis shoe.

Fit

The shape and size of the shoe make it suitable for players who have medium to wide feet. The shoe is true to the length which means you don’t have to go either size up or down. Furthermore, this shoe does not require any break-in period which is fantastic because your feet can easily adjust to it once you wear it for the first time.

Outsole

Another part of the shoe that’s worth taking a look at is the outsole. The shoe comes with a herringbone tread pattern which is going to provide you with excellent traction on a variety of court surfaces.

Also, the non-marking Aosta 7.0 rubber is going to provide you with decent durability.

It’s not the best outsole durability on the market. Therefore, if you are an aggressive mover or someone who is hard on their outsole then this shoe wouldn’t suit your game.

Colour Options

As of right now, there are not many colour options to choose from. I hope K-Swiss can release different colours and improve their design in their next edition.

Price

The last important point to talk about is the price of the shoe. It comes under $120 which is the average price for most tennis shoes.

This price point is fantastic because it gives most players the opportunity to afford this type of shoe. On top of that, it comes with amazing features such as excellent comfort, lightweight, and nice cushioning.

Conclusion!!

In conclusion, I hope you have enjoyed this review of the K-Swiss Hypercourt Express. It’s very clear that K-Swiss has built a very good shoe to provide you with excellent comfort, nice cushioning, and lightweight.

However, there are some areas that need improvements such as support, stability, and durability. If K-Swiss manages to improve these areas in their next edition, it would become a powerhouse for all types of players.

The shoe is breathable, has good traction, and comes at an affordable price. It’s worth checking it out. I wish you the very best of luck with this shoe and I hope you find great value in it.
