Wilson has released the Rush Pro 2.5 with the same awesome features that have become the hallmark of Wilson tennis shoes. It’s built to give you maximum stability and durability but on the same fast, low to the ground platform as the previous version.
If you are a player that is a big fan of Wilson tennis shoes then you would enjoy playing in these shoes. Let’s start with the design of the shoe.
Table of Contents
Design
Right out of the box, the shoe looks simple and sleek to play with on the court. I wouldn’t say it’s the most attractive and colourful shoe I have seen on the market. But it’s decent enough to play with on the court.
Upper
Let’s take a closer look at the upper material. It comes with a lightweight mesh material that is going to provide you with breathability.
This means fresh air would be able to enter the shoe quickly whiles allowing moisture to leave. This helps to keep your feet fresh throughout the match.
The use of 3D-F.S technology does really well to provide you with exceptional stability and responsiveness during the game. This helps with your movement and sliding on the court.
And lastly with the upper material is the use of Endofit inner lining which really helps lock in the foot for better comfort and support.
Toe Box
You are going to get excellent toe box protection from this shoe. This helps to prevent you from getting any injuries or hurting yourself. Also, the Wilson Rush Pro 2.5 has got enough room in the shoe to keep your toes comfortably and supportive.
Another feature you may enjoy about the toe box is how durable it is. If you are a toe dragger you would love playing in them.
Arch and Ankle Support
Both the arch and ankle are going to provide you with good support and stability as you move around the court. This will also prevent you from putting too much pressure on your ankle.
Lacing System and Tongue
Both the lacing system and tongue are basic and sample compared with other shoes that are laceless such as the Wilson Kaos Mirage.
The Wilson Rush Pro 2.5 comes with a well-padded tongue to provide you with a nice cushioning and comfort to play in it. The lacing system on the other hand comes with extra lacing holes for you to use for grip and support in your game.
You have a leather hole attached to the tongue to allow you to lace through which keeps the tongue stable. This stops the tongue from distracting you during the match.
Insole and Midsole
The shoe comes with a removable insole which allows you to replace it with your prefered insole. Also, if you wash the shoe you can take the insole out to make it dry quickly. You are going to enjoy the nice cushioning and support this shoe brings.
The midsole is made of R-dst+ material which is going to provide you with a good blend of cushioning and responsiveness.
This allows you to be comfortable with your movement on the court.
On top of that, the Pro Torque Chassis mid-foot shank resists twisting while still allowing the foot to move naturally. This is great at allowing you to slide and recover your position on the court well.
Weight
The shoe comes with a weight of 14.8 ounces with a size of 10.5. This puts it in the lightweight category and would help you to move quickly on the court.
Fit
The Wilson Rush Pro 2.5 is great for players with medium and wide feet. It’s really going to fit you well and allow you to move better on the court. If you have a narrow foot, however, you may need to wear two pairs of socks to give you the best fit you need on the court.
If you want a better narrow foot size then I would encourage you to check the post on the best tennis shoes for narrow feet. You may find it useful in helping you to find the perfect shoe for your narrow feet.
This shoe may require a slight break-in period for some players which you might not notice. Overall, you are going to enjoy the nice cushioning and comfort of the shoe.
Outsole
Another area of the shoe that you may benefit from is the outsole. It comes with Duralast rubber which is going to provide you with good durability. This would enable you to play in these shoes for a long time.
In addition, the use of a modified herringbone tread pattern would provide you with great traction on all court surfaces. This would enable you to move effectively and efficiently on the court.
Colour Option
The only major weakness I can think of regarding this shoe is the lack of colour options it has. It would be great if Wilson can produce varieties of colours for players to choose from.
Price
The last important point that you need to be aware of is in case you are going to purchase this shoe is the price.
This shoe is less than $120 which is a good price point for its amazing features such as good comfort.
However, if you feel that this shoe does not fit your budget then you can try other shoes such as the NikeCourt Vapor Lite which is going to provide you with comfort, breathability and lightweight.
Conclusion!!
In conclusion, Wilson has produced another great shoe on the market that is going to provide you with comfort, stability and durability.
However, this shoe lack colour options to choose from and some players may experience a mild break-in period. With that said you are going to enjoy the awesome lightweight and excellent traction on all court surfaces. It’s a great shoe that’s worth checking out.
