  • Lack of durability
  • Needs more colour options to choose from

Are you looking for a lightweight, supportive yet less expensive tennis shoe? If the answer is ‘yes’. Then I have the perfect shoe for you. It’s called the Adidas CourtFlash.

This shoe is specifically designed to provide you with the best features such as being lightweight to be able to function well on the court. If you are excited about this shoe, let’s dive deeper to learn more about it.

Design

Right out of the box, the Adidas CourtFlash is made simple, sleek and attractive to wear. The colours that Adidas selected to make the shoes are spot on from my perspective.

My favourite colour of the shoe is aqua/black. It looks beautiful and makes it cool to wear them outside of the court for other activities such as the gym.

Also, I like how Adidas placed and blended its logo with the shoe. It makes the shoe stand out from the rest of the pack.

Upper

Aside from the design and colour scheme for the shoe. Adidas also did a great job with the upper material. The upper is made with mesh material which is going to provide you with excellent comfort and maximizes breathability.

This is great at allowing moisture to leave the shoe quickly while allowing fresh air to enter the shoe. This helps your feet to stay fresh and cool throughout the match.

Moreover, since it’s breathable you would be able to play in hot weather conditions without your feet getting too much hot.

Toe Cap, Heel Area and Shank

The toe box area is wrapped with abrasion-resistant ADITUFF material which does really well at providing you with good protection. This would help reduce your chances of you getting any serious injuries.

Another great thing with the toe box is how it comes with enough room in the toe box area. This is to provide you with comfort and prevent you from getting any toe jamming. This enables you to play freely without experiencing any pain or soreness.

The downside to the toe cap is the lack of durability. If you are aggressive with your toe box then I wouldn’t recommend this shoe.

The heel area is perfectly designed to put your heels in the perfect position as you move around the court. And lastly, the shank is very responsive and it’s probably one of the best on the market this year.

Insole and Midsole

Next up are the insole and midsole. The insole comes with a removable layer which you can replace anytime with your prefered choice. Also, when you wash the shoe, you can take the insole out for it to dry quickly.

The midsole on the other hand comes with the shock-absorbing soft EVA.

The purpose of this material is to provide you with loads of cushioning and reduce the impact on joints.

This is great news because it reduces the chances of you getting a serious injury.

Weight

Without a doubt, this is one of the lightest tennis shoes on the market. It’s going to give you the advantage to increase your speed and move with ease on the court. Also, since it’s low to the ground, it would help you change your directions in a smooth way.

Lacing System and Tongue

Now let’s take a closer look at the lacing system. Both the lacing system and tongue are designed in a simplistic format to provide you with the best support and grip.

The eyelets are not made of metals but the same materials used to make the upper. This makes it easy to lace through the eyelets but it may not be durable.

The tongue is a well-padded material which does really well at providing you with cushioning and support.

This allows you to play comfortably without putting too much pressure on your forefoot.

Moreover, since the tongue is not that heavy it reduces the weight of the shoe and helps you to improve your speed.

Fit

Just like the Adidas Court Control, this shoe is geared more towards players who have narrow to medium feet. The length of the shoe is slightly long and the arch is low. This means you don’t have to go either a size up or down when selecting your size.

This shoe requires little to no break-in period. This is good because your feet can easily adapt to the shoe in no time.

Outsole

Another key strength of the shoe is the outsole material. It comes with Adidas owns ADIWEAR rubber compound which is going to provide you with good traction on all court surfaces. This is a nice feature to have because you don’t have to keep buying different shoes for different surfaces.

It would save you cost. However, the outsole material is not the most durable on the market.

Therefore, if you tend to wear your outsole quickly then I wouldn’t recommend this product to you. Instead, you may feel comfortable trying other products such as Asics Court FF 2.

The Court FF 2 is specifically built to last you longer than most average tennis shoes. You would really benefit a lot from this type of shoe if you are looking for durability.

Colour Options

As beautiful and nice-looking this shoe is, it comes with limited colour options to choose from. As of the time this post is written, it has two colour options. The aqua/black and black/white/red.

It would be great to see Adidas release different colours for players to have more options to choose from.

Price

This is one of the most affordable tennis shoes to be released this year. The price of the shoe is around $80 which makes it affordable for any player with any kind of budget. Not only that, but it comes with amazing features such as lightweight, comfort, and nice cushioning.

Final Thoughts!!

In conclusion, this shoe is built to provide you with lightweight, nice cushioning and breathability. However, it comes with limited colour options and the durability needs improvement.

On the other hand, it’s very affordable for every player, it looks spectacular and the outsole traction is spot on. If you are a fan of Adidas shoes then you would enjoy this version.

Summary

Adidas releases another tennis shoe on the market after Avacourt. The CourtFlash is built to provide you with lightweight support at a good price value.

However, it’s not going to be the most durable tennis shoe on the market. Overall the positive attributes of the CourtFlash completely outweigh the negative. Therefore, it’s worth giving it a shot.
