It seems that Adidas is already busy in this year’s season as they have already released two tennis shoes. They have already released the Adidas Defiant Speed which I reviewed a few days ago.
However, the Adidas Adizero Cybersonic is built differently to provide you with speed, comfort, and support. The big question that you are probably asking is did Adidas achieved this goal? If you are hundreds of people going through this thought pattern then let’s find out by analyzing different aspects of the shoe. Let’s begin with the design.
Table of Contents
Design
At a first glance, the design and colour scheme selected for the shoe is done in a simple format. It may not be the most attractive shoe on the market however, it looks cool when you wear it both on and off the court. Adidas’s three-stripes logo on the side of the shoe blends well with the colours chosen.
Upper
Let’s take a closer look at the upper material because there is a lot going on there. It comes with a two-layer woven mesh material which does well to provide you with good structure.
On top of that, the use of the TPU mesh underneath the upper does well to expand your foot when you are moving on the court. This gives you better movements and stability on the court.
Furthermore, since the upper material comes in mesh material, it’s going to provide you with good breathability when playing in them. This means moisture is going to leave the shoe quickly whiles allowing fresh air into the shoe.
And lastly with the upper material is the durability. It’s going to protect your shoes from wearing out quickly.
Toe Box, Ankle Support, and Heel Area
The toe box area comes with a dura-guard. The purpose of this is to provide you with good durability and protection when you are playing in them. If you are a player that likes to slide and is aggressive in your movement then you would enjoy playing in this shoe.
Also, the toe box is going to provide you with a good fit when you were it. This makes you comfortable when playing in it and you get to enjoy the nice cushioning. The ankle area is going to give you a nice fit and support when you wear the shoe. This would keep your ankle stable and supportive.
The heel guard is going to help place your heels in the correct position as you move on the court. This would help you move better on the court. Moreover, it comes with a heel tap to help you wear the shoe quickly and with ease.
Insole and Midsole
Next up are the insole and midsole of the shoe. The insole is going to provide you with the best cushioning possible as you play in it.
You would benefit a lot from the materials used to make the insole. Not only that, but it comes with a removable insole which gives you the opportunity to replace the midsole with your preferred one.
The midsole on the other hand comes in a full light strike dual-density cushioning. Adidas took a different approach with how they made this midsole because they spread the dual-density foam throughout. This makes it fun and enjoyable to play in this shoe.
Furthermore, this material does well to increase the reaction time on the court and give you a plush underfoot feel.
Weight
Next up is the weight of the Adidas Adizero Cybersonic. It comes with 11.8 ounces with a size of 8.5. I wouldn’t say it’s the most lightweight shoe on the market however, the speed it provides to your game is really good. This would make your movement on the court more smooth and quick.
Lacing System and Tongue
The way the lacing system and tongue are structured makes it similar to the Adidas Adizero Uber. The tongue comes in a rugged format which doesn’t make it the best-padded tongue.
However, it does have an elastic gusset at the bottom which is going to give you more grip when you wear the shoe.
In terms of the lacing system, it is made in an eyelets outrigger format. It goes really deep into the shrouded board to give you more grip and support. It may not be the best lacing system and tongue structure on the market.
Fit
The fit of the shoe is ideal and suitable for most players’ feet. However, you may have to go up a size to get the perfect fit. For example, if you are a 4E you need to go up 1 size.
Although, if you have a narrow, medium, and 2E then you can go for your normal size. Also, this shoe is perfect for players who have issues such as arch pain, heel pain, tendinitis, and others.
However, it’s not suitable for players who have ankle sprainers and bunions. This shoe does not come with a break-in period which is really good. This would allow you to get used to the shoe quickly without having to go through the arduous process of adjusting to it.
Outsole
The outsole is one of the best parts of this shoe. It comes with a flat herringbone structure to provide you with smooth and efficient sliding. Also, the lateral side and medial of the heel do well to provide you with excellent traction on hard court surfaces.
As much as there is a lot going on in the outsole, it still does well to increase your speed and it’s so easy to move.
Furthermore, the use of Adiwear rubber compound on the outsole provides you with excellent durability. If you are a heavy slider then you would benefit a lot from this shoe.
Colour Options
Sadly, as nice as the Adizero Cybersonic looks it comes in only one colour option for both men and women. It would be great to see more colours being released as the season progress.
Price
Lastly, is the price of the Adidas Adizero Cybersonic. It comes to around $179.95 which makes it one of the most expensive tennis shoes on the market. However, the amazing benefits such as excellent durability, comfort, and support you get from the shoe are incredible.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the Adidas Adizero Cybersonic is one of the best tennis on the market. It would allow you to play better by providing you with comfort, support and durability. If you are a player that is looking for these features then you would benefit a lot from it.
However, it is pricey and the shock absorption needs improvement. Overall, Adidas did a great job with this shoe.
